Highlights from 2008

(4-5 JUL 08) - SOLO Wilderness First Aid Course The crew attends remote wilderness first aid training for situations where medical help is delayed over an hour. Members received classroom and practical training in dealing with all of the most common wilderness and basic first aid injuries and completed testing for certification from SOLO Schools. (Course run in Purdy by a SOLO instructor)
	(16 AUG 08) - Chickasaw State Forest Hike The crew hikes jeep trails in Chickasaw State Forest in preparation for their 50-miler super-activity. They rotated lead position, taking turns navigating using topographic map and compass while others in the crew kept a pace count for distance. Another local scout and an exhange student from Mexico joined them for the fun.
(13 SEP 08) - SAR Training Exercise at Chickasaw State Forest Some crew members conduct final planning and coordination on the hood of a vehicle prior to heading into the woods in search of a "lost and injured subject." The crew located the man within a couple of hours and had to negotiate some steep terrain and dense foliage to do so.
	(13 DEC 08) - Natchez Trace State Park Hike The crew winds their way through the last half-mile of a four-mile hike around Cub Creek Lake Side Trail at Natchez Trace State Park. This was one of the many hikes made in preparation for our 50-miler super activity.
